300-399 SOCIAL SCIENCES : Sociology, Economics, Law, Education, etc
400-499 LANGUAGE : Dictionaries, Grammars, Readers, etc. in all languages
500-599 PURE SCIENCES : Mathematics, Astronomy, Physics, Chemistry, etc.
600-699 TECHNOLOGY : Engineering, Agriculture, Business, etc.
700-799 THE ARTS : Architecture, Sculpture, Painting, Music,etc
800-899 LITERATURE : Poetry, Drama, and Essays in all languages.
900-999 GEOGRAPHY & HISTORY : General Geography, Travel, Histories of all countries and ages.

The Dewey Decimal Classification number for any nonfiction book is found in the card catalog under author, title or subject

FICTION : Grouped on the shelves separately and arranged alphabetically by the author's names.
BIOGRAPHY : Lives of individuals written about are arranged alphabetically by the individuals' surnames.
