1. Agriculture
2. Tourism
3. Commerce and Industry
4. Fine Arts
5. Trades and Professions
6. Information Technology

Agriculture

Antigua imports 90% of its food while processing 50% ideally arable lands. The public educational system will address this phenomenon realistically. Agricultural Science will be emphasized. Schools will be encouraged to develop and cultivate available lands as a catalyst towards a core farming community. The system will motivate the population to feed itself and improve the nation's foreign exchange earnings through exportation.

Being surrounded by sea, Antigua and Barbuda is rich in marine resources, which are advantageous to the local community and to the tourism industry. The educational system will inculcate the value of the marine environment to the nation's development. Consistent curriculum revision will be effected to teach the skills necessary to sustain a vibrant fishing and marine industry.

Tourism

The main industry of Antigua and Barbuda is Tourism. At this level of the educational system this topic will be integrated into teaching/learning environments. Antigua and Barbuda is a beautiful country; the public educational system will teach/train the upcoming generation to retain the beauty. Environment concerns as related to agricultural swamps, coral reefs and other natural entities should be featured in the curricula.

Commerce

The development of small/medium enterprises is crucial to the present, medium/long term development goals of the country. As a result, graduates skilled in commerce are in demand. Secondary education will improve teaching methods in this area, providing graduates with up-to-date practical and theoretical skills for the workforce. Secondary schools will be equipped with the necessary tools to facilitate this goal.

The educational system will also facilitate students of Commercial studies with opportunities to practice with computers as this is a standard feature of the world of work. The system will also reinforce students' ethical values and occupational rationale while providing them with skills for future employment.

Fine Arts

Social education will be considered as one of the leading ways to accomplishing the realization of learning for a lifetime. The rapid and dramatic infiltration of the Caribbean by foreign culture has significantly disoriented this region. Today in Antigua and Barbuda the suffering from this infiltration is acute.
